The Oberndorf Swedish Mauser, also known as the Swedish Mauser, is a highly regarded bolt-action rifle that was originally produced by Mauser in Oberndorf, Germany, and later by Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori in Sweden. The Swedish Mauser, specifically the m/96 (Model 1896) variant, is chambered in 6.5x55mm, a cartridge known for its accuracy and low recoil.

The Swedish Mauser rifles were designed with a one-piece bolt and dual locking lugs, which provided a robust and reliable action. The m/96 model features a straight bolt handle and a 29.1-inch barrel, contributing to its accuracy and performance. The rifle was also equipped with a unique barrel band that allowed for easier mounting of a bayonet.

The 6.5x55mm cartridge, also known as the 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser or simply the 6.5 Swede, was developed in the late 19th century and is still popular among hunters and target shooters today.
